Drove my wifes 470 for the first time in a while and noticed the headlights seem awfully dim.
The brights are awesome. Just the dims. The lenses are nice and clear. No yellowing or chalking. Do I need new ones? Any recommendations?

Might have to try this. Cheap mod that doesn't take much time or money.

Well it's defiantly brighter. It's whiter light. Not yellow as before. The cut off is the same so not really any chance of blinding people. I spent more time replacing all of the broken plastic push pins on the plastic cover than anything.

I used a Dremel for the inside of the plug and a pair of side cutters for the metal tabs. The mod is pretty easy. It was all of those plastic fasteners on the radiator cover that were a pain.

so how have these H9 bulbs held up over time, want to change out my bulbs

H9 bulbs from Candlepower are on their way. I have had the H11 LEDs in for less than a year and they have started to go out. It will be interesting to see how the beam pattern is on with the Halogens. I have said it before my wife's 2010 Halogen projectors have a great pattern, cut off, and throw. I hope that I can semi emulate that with these higher output halogens.

Still going good since last March. I thought since they are on all the time they would burn out pretty fast.

Just did the H9 mod, kinda hard to find them in stock at stores though. They are a fair amount more bright then the H11.

agreed. the throw and projectors are much happier with tht H9 bulb. I ordered mine from Kenny at Candlepower and they are awesome. quick shipping too!
