I was wondering what people do if they want to upgrade bumpers on their modern high-end truck which has parking sensors. Is a modern original bumper complex monolithic unit, or maybe the sensors are removable and somehow reusable? Do aftermarket bumpers have their own sensors, or do you just give up that feature once you upgrade

When Slee installed my ARB front bumper, he put the sensors in the new bumper.

Sensors are removable from stock bumpers, with aftermarket you might need to drill a hole if none exist, or with some modify the existing hole if the sensor doesn't fit properly.

Yup. What he said.

My TJM came with a template to drill the holes for the sensors but after a year I still haven't drilled them. Years of NYC parking have made the parking assist unnecessary anyway.

Sensor install on the TJMwas easy...just a bit of drilling and filing for a good fit.

What about installing sensors in the rear bumpers, especially with the swing out tire carrier? Seems straight-forward enough, but without the convenience of reusing the factory wiring harness.
