Dispersed Camping (1 Viewer)

Anyone have any suggestions for somewhat local dispersed camping?

On the west side we had tons of national forest. An hour or two of driving from my old place and we could be in some amazing mountain camp sites, complete with stunning vista views. Any trips we made over the pass were for the wildlife areas or BLM stuff near the Columbia.

Now that I'm here, I'm starting to fiend for a quick weekend trip, somewhere I can take the dog and not worry about seeing another soul. Scenery helps, too!

Is my best bet going to be Idaho?

Idaho or heading north into Colville National forest. It's about a hour drive north of Spokane. Lot's of beautiful country up there.
