Hey guys. I tried searching to no avail. I was wondering if anyone has attempted to disable the annoying door open/lights on chime when the key is in the ignition. IIRC on my 4runner, I had to take the spedometer/tachometer apart and drill a hole in the actual horn that produces the sound. Well, it worked like a charm. I wonder if it would be a similar procedure...thoughts?

This should be configurable through Toyota/Lexus Handhelt Tester or Techstream. If you don't have access yourself, take it to a dealership or mechanic that does. I've changed some of these settings myself with Techstream + Tactrix OpenPort 2.0. If you have any other questions I can take a look tonight and see what LX specific settings are and confirm the two below show up.

Below are two settings you may be interested in. This link has more settings to give you an idea of what other annoying settings you might want to have changed (the pdf is from a Tundra site but the settings should be the same or similar to what you can tweak for our LCs/LXs): http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sour...45DvDA&usg=AFQjCNHd9TRL2apl_N_SHclpqtLJVfFCBA

Here are the two I mentioned:
1)
I/L ON / ACC OFF ON
Illuminates light when ignition
switch turned to ACC
(Room light illuminated when
interior light switch set to DOOR)

2)
I/L ON / UNLOCK ON
Function to light up room light
when unlocking with door key
cylinder
(Room light illuminated when
interior light switch set to DOOR)

Bump! Any DIY instructions for this??

If it can be done, it will have to be with TechStream / scan tool. Are you talking about door chime with the key in the ignition?

Yes, the door chime with the key in the ignition. The one that beeped at me incessantly while I was trying to listen to the radio while tidying up some wires in the footwell!

If it has the plunger style door switch, you could just trick it to keep the door chime quiet.
