I have a busted antenna mast and have no interest in putting new one in (picks up signal just fine with mast always down). But the antenna motor runs when when I turn the cruiser on and off. Anyone know how to disable the motor? Is there a plug at the motor u have to pull? A fuse maybe?

Thanks!

Unplugged at the motor and all good now. Goodbye power antenna, good riddance!

In case anybody wants to replace the automatic antenna with a regular one. This one will fit and matches the contour of the body good as well. The only thing is I found the cable to be just a little short and needed an extension. I also had to screw the attachment point inside the wheel well(with the inner cover removed) with a sheet metal screw.

Why get rid of it if it's just a broken mast? The car wash didn't lower mine this week and it broke in half. Replacement cost 15 bucks and I watched the guy R and R it with one wrench and 90 seconds.

I have not had good luck with aftermarket antennas. One would not stay secured after a few months. It would pop out and dangle from geared plastic line. The other antenna didn't even fit.

I say go OE.
