I wanted to post some pictures of the Dirtcom trailswing. Installed it over the weekend but still need to move the backup camera and finish the plate light wiring. I debated the Rigd as well, but for my usage the left hand swing seemed to be a better fit. I'm not crazy about any of the bumpers yet for the GX 10-13's and have zero welding skills for something like the Coastal Offroad. Hopefully Dissent eventually builds a full bumper but till then this will work great.

Really well built and heavy. I ordered this months ago when they first announced the left hand swing GX version.

Request: More write up! More photos!

Glad to finally see it in the wild. I really have my eye on this one. Welds look good. Seems it has a better handle than the original shown on the YouTube video. How does it look opened up along with the door going the other way? Are you going to add on the rotopax and table accessories? How long did the install take and how's the anti wobble hardware feel? TIA

I was fortunate enough to meet AJ at @DIRTCOMPLEX and have him install my trailswing. The overall build quality is solid. No rattles or noise issues whatsoever.

Only thing left to do is wire up the light for the license frame and relocate the camera. I went with the SSO kit for the camera.

A FuelPax will go behind the tire.

It's a good thing it swings 180° or there could be issues with trying to squeeze between the door and spare tire hanger when trying to load anything the width of rear opening.

Good looking piece of kit. What does the “install” entail? I assume it’s attaching the TrailSwing to the tow hitch then bolting in the spare, correct? And you’ll have to reverse that exact process to remove? Imagine the swing + wheel/tire is much too heavy to lift in a single piece solo.

I'm not sure how the swing is packaged/shipped for those who are unable to pick it up. Assembly was required to be able to drive off when I picked it up.

This was the sequence if I remember correctly.

Drop the spare and remove it from underneath. AJ was impressed that I was able to do this myself.
Place the swing arm tongue into the hitch receiver and tighten the bolt (19 or 20MM?). This is the anti-wobble mechanism or wedge.

Mount the wheel plate to the swing arm (4 bolts).

The plate is in the highest point for my setup. As you can see it can be lowered to suite your needs.

Mount the rubber pad that provides additional support to the arm.

Place your spare on the on the welded on lug stud.

Insert the supplied lug studs into position and tighten them down with the lug nuts and you are off and running.

Don't forget your locking trailer hitch pin.

I ordered the accessory hitch and a few roto spacers. Accessory hitch should be here next week. Install is easy, haven’t run plate light wiring or moved the camera but will get to that this weekend and post a few more pictures. There is no wobble at the hitch but there is some flex at the tire mount while driving(275/70/17 C load). Went out to Folsom lake today and didn’t have any issues, wobble, noises, etc. The latch handle is new and could be swapped with a standard ODI bike grip if you wanted.

Ok I’m in on this. Ironing out the details of my order now. Will update in 5-6 weeks when hopefully I have the thing.
