Has anyone done their diff and transfer case oil? trying to get most of the parts now.
So far I got

12157-10010 - Fill plug washer both rear and front
12157-10010 - Drain plug washer for rear
90430-24017 - Drain plug washer for front

OIL
08885-81060 - 75W85 LT
Seem to not be able to find it in toyota parts store. Was wondering if anyone recommends a 3rd party oil
Looking into Motul Gear 300 LS 75W90 - does anyone have experience with this oil?

let me know if I'm missing anything.
thanks :)

You probably don't need to replace the drain or fill plug washers. I've re-used mine many, many times.

Mobil Delvac is a good synthetic 75W90 that does not include a limited slip additive (almost every other gear oil does - the mentioned Motul seems to indicate that it includes it as well). The Mobil runs very quiet in the transfer case and stays clean. It can be hard to find at parts stores, so I usually get a few quarts at a time from Summit Racing. Right now it's $12/quart, but I've bought it as low as $9 quart.

I thought we need the limited slip additive?

The GX transfer case is a Torsen limited slip. It uses worm and spur gears to send torque around, as opposed to a conventional friction clutch limited slip differential (which you'd typically find in a truck rear axle). The Torsen shouldn't need any friction modifier as it doesn't use friction plates to reduce slip. I'm not sure that using the friction modifier will hurt a GX transfer case, but at the same time I'd rather not chance it, and the Mobil Delvac fluid is inexpensive enough and works well enough that I've kept using it.

learn something new everyday! thank you for the info
I got some Liqui-moly Fully Synthetic Hypoid Gear Oil (GL4/5) SAE 75W-90 lying around from my old car that i never got to use. its enough to do rear and front diff so i might use that then when the time comes lol and doesn't have the LSD additive.

Personally i'll be looking into using Amsoil, not sure if they have a gear oil for our t-case. Is there a magnetic drain plug available?
Id buy a spare plug and replacement seals, as you are already on top of.

You can order replacement plugs, but you shouldn't need them unless your existing plugs are super-rusty or rounded off. You can try cracking them loose with a 24mm wrench/socket to see before you guy new ones. My plugs are 18 years old and are still fine. I change the fluid in my diffs yearly and the TC every couple of years, so they get loosened and re-torqued pretty often. I was changing the TC fluid yearly but it was always coming out nearly perfectly clean, so it's now on a extended schedule.

There is not need to over think this, the plugs are beefy 24 mm units, the seals are thick metal and totally re-usable (unless rusty and/or otherwise damaged), and high-end fluid is not required.

Not a TC - but here is the 8" 3rd member from my 2007 GX470 at 190K. I have run nothing but cheapo Valvoline conventional 80W90 in it for the past 50K miles or so. Perfect condition - even the OEM paint markings were still visible. The frequency of gear oil changes is more important than the type of gear oil, as long as they meet the specifications from the manufacturer in terms of type.

I used Valvoline in my 80, think it has a certain additive that's not in most other brands, can't remember exactly... maybe it was the "funbags" aka"easy fill bag" containers. I used Amsoil ATF in my 80 series and it was a noticeable improvement over Toyota ATF
