I'm trying to get some rear quarter panels made up for a bj73-bj74 and am only able to locate them for a bj70 what are the differences between the two In Length from the door back on the quarter panel? Also are the wheel wells the same arch? any info would prove valuable In Getting these made and possible available for sale in the future from the same mud member.

i have a 70 and 74 that i would be able to give you info on. the 74 is inside, so I could get tomorrow. the 70 is outside, so nothing until it gets back above zero. Pretty sure the difference is between the wheel well and the back of the door. however, the 70 has clearance lights in the back, the 74 doesn't

I would have thought the 70 incorporates the whole window frame up to the roof

Also ShesMad it would be nice if you could get some measurements made up on the 74!! Then I can confirm your measurements with my 73 Perhaps making a rough template of the 70 and laying against the 74 on the wheel wells to demonstrate the differences in length and arch would be cool if you have some free time.....

I just realized I have flares on my 74. Can not get good measurements with them on.

However the Toyota DIY site lists all 73 and 74 series having the same quarter panels

Where would the extra metal be on a 73/74 quarter panel versus a 70 panel between door and wheel arch or from wheel arch to rear bumper/ tail lights?
From all the pics I see it looks like there is about 10 inches of extra metal from the side door back to the wheel arch and from the wheel arch to the back seems the same is this correct? Does anyone have a measurement to determine the amount of extra metal I would need??

these are the measurements i have on my bj73 can someone take the measurement on the same seams along the bottom of there 70 the top is from the door to the start of the wheel arch 13.0 inches the second is from the wheel arch end to the rear by the tail lights 9.5 inches

QUARTER PANEL 3.webp

As near as I can tell The 70/73/74 are the same distance from the wheel opening to the back of the quarter. I believe the BJ70 wheel base is ~11 inches shorter than a 73/74.

If the 3 " is between the back of the door and the wheel arch---that is not a 73. That is the 70. the 73/74 is much longer

I do not have a 70 but this photo is a pretty good side view.

Just got outta bed to take these for ya. Hope they help. Truck is an 89 BJ71. I've been told it's the same as a 70.
