I was wondering if anyone tried diesel purge on an hj60 - I did it to my 85 diesel benz (300td) in the spring and it did wonders to her performance

Diesel Purge For Mercedes: I used this as a reference
see:

you can order the stuff liquid moly thru mercedes source: http://mercedessource.com/node/791

or in Ottawa I used A&C auto supplies (baseline and greenbank) to get mine - tony there will order it in 4 u - 596-2770

I am guessing/wondering if anyone has done this to these toyota diesels

here is a video for toyota - not particularly informative if you ask me

Anyhow I just ordered two bottles/liters and I will try to figure it out after I get her safetied. If anyone knows a reason not to purge a toyota HJ 60 or has experience good or bad with doing this - or suggestions on what not to do - it would be great to hear from u

cheers Kent

Overhere when a diesel seems not to pass the exhaust smog test they replace the fuel filter and fill it with cleaning stuff and let it soak a few minutes.

I do that too, usually using SeaFoam, except this week I use some LiquiMoly Diesel Purge that a fellow mudder gave me. I bring my engine to running temperature. Change the filter and fill it with your favorite cleaning agent, run it for a minute, stop it and let it soak and restart.

yup, I buy Seafoam by the case and use it every filter change with my three 3B's. Fill the FF.
The difference is unbelievable. Especially the one that runs grease.

Now does anyone think that Seafoam and the like are quite harsh and may be hard on 30 year old seals in the IP??? That has always been my view.

I know nothing about Lubri moly however

There are no rubber seals on the inside of an inline Toyota pump. There are copper washers on the inlet banjo, and the outlet of the 12ht. The 2H has no outlet to return to tank.

There may be rubber seals in the bottom part of the IP, but not the top part where the fuel is.

Good call, thanks

I will try it on a 12ht, she's been sitting for years but still runs perfect, liqui moly say it's safe for all diesels. Might buy a cheap filter incase some crud comes out as I literally just changed all the filters.

Well all done, was easy enough, pipes are easy to get at, I poured into small jug and hung off the ps hose.
No nasties came out but the exhaust doesn't puff at idle now. I thought the primer pump wasn't working as there wasn't much resistance but it was, the purge must have freed it up.
