So I have the opportunity to buy a 100 series from Europe and have it shipped to Canada for free as I'll be over there for work.

What's the general consensus on if it's worth it, and how much would you spend?

I'd buy a diesel at a premium... maybe $3k more than I'd be willing to spend on an LX470 or LC100 (all else equal). You can import a vehicle from Europe pretty easily if it is 15 years old (or older). Newer vehicles require more paperwork.

I agree with this, and might even add a few thousand more. If you look at conversions, they vary wildly from $6,000 to $21,000. With that in mind, you'd be ahead.

Parts here in the US might be Fun though! :bang:

My best guess would US$18-23k to the diesel enthusiast. Though, I'd be more interested in a LHD HZJ73 ('99+ front coil springs) or HZJ105.... but I'm not in Canada, so only 25+ year olds for me.

The 100s in Europe do come with the 3rd row, as an option. About half of the ones I've seen are 7 seaters.

Can't understand why you would want the hassle of getting a diesel tho'. Smelly, noisy thing. Petrols run smoother too. The reason why most cruisers are diesel over here, is that fuel prices are very high, and the diesel is cheaper than petrol, and the milage is better on diesel too. Petrol is about US$ 2 pr litre, and diesel 1.75. (That's 7.5 US$ for a gallon of petrol).
Do you want my HDJ100? Bring me a UZJ and we'll swap:flipoff2:

PS: just saw this petrol price overview by country. Very interresting. (Norway is the top one, a mile above the others): http://www.bloomberg.com/visual-data/gas-prices/20144:Canada:USD:g

Interesting. Surprised Iceland wasn't on the list. The prices have really dropped here. I paid the equivalent of U$6.32 for diesel last week, as opposed to almost $8.50 last summer.

One thing you have going for you is that the Euro is almost at a an all time low and the U.S. dollar is REALLY strong over their!
Heck, for what the the Euro to dollar exchange is right now, I'd consider buying a couple and send them back for a profit!
