Heck yeah, I rode today! First ride of 2025 and first time since October 2, 2024. I just spanked that ride. I felt fast, strong and nimble. Dang.
In between October and now I’ve been riding the Peloton 3x weekly. It shows.

Bonus, I saw three humongous deer on the trail and one Bald Eagle flying overhead. Don’t see too many of those in this part of Massachusetts!

2025 MTB season has just begun!

The maritimes, like my nose, were a blowin' here in 'Scrota. But the sun was out and it was reasonably warm -- and I was still bored -- so what else to do than a couple saddle hours? My only fuel was a double espresso pull, so I figured I'd bonk at about an hour and a half. And I did! Like, to the minute. But it wasn't just a fuel bonk: no, it was a COVID bonk. You know it's one of those when you can't even taste your despair. 20 miles. Felt like 40.

Got some fotos. Had to take these myself because no one wanted to ride in my germstream. Go figure.

It's been a fantastic week so far, and it's only Wed! Let's see, the pooch and I played cops and robbers on the MTB yesterday, and then we went snowshoeing the day before and again today. Life is good, legs are blown :bang:

Yesterday's ride was short and swift, hence the extra long tongue from Luka. Today's moonset/sunrise snowshoeing was nothing short of pure Nirvana on powder that fell over the weekend. Got a righteous sunrise while heading back home.

Test run on a local trail . Feeling good! Need to swap the crankset for a more mountain friendly setup. No one needs a 50 tooth big ring!

I'm positive this will draw some guffaws, but today was huge for me. I did a 33-mile ride on my "commuter" bike, the Kona Dr. Dew. It's a pig (29? lbs), but I have it perfectly dialed in now; and after going with a new rear tire (Teravail Washburn 650b x47mm tubeless at 34psi, formerly a WTB was on) the bike rolls so, so well and much easier.

Why was this huge? I tend to work far too hard, usually tap out sooner, and sweat my ass off. None of that today. Longest ride on this bike as well!

I managed to take one picture, only because I was enjoying myself, smiling, just admiring the scenery and the clear Carolina blue sky.
