Did Toyota build an LC 2001 that is a Lexus and 50th anniversary version?

Hi,

I have just seen an LX 470 2001 diesel and don't know whether it is genuine or not. It has the front lights with all the various options however is there a distinct way of telling whether this is a genuine LX or not?

The chassis starts with a HDJ101.

I have never heard of a Lexus Diesel 100 but I've been wrong before. Many have swapped in the LX exterior badges and such but will often miss the small ones on the inside... likely the expensive one on the airbag/steering wheel or stereo.

The 2001 Toyota Land Cruiser is the 50th anniversary model. Lexus has not been out for 50 years.

On a side note, I've noticed my OEM glass says Toyota on my 98 LX but on newer LX's around here, they are marked as Lexus.

If seen this a couple of times now. I thought the 97 was the 40th anniversary?

Six or seven years ago, I came across a 2000 or 2001 anniversary edition 5oth anniversary. The lot specialized in import defenders and g wagons. It was white, with white painted bumpers and fender flares. It seemed to have the upgraded lexus leather, steering wheel and a nakamichi stereo. I figured it was pieced together wreck, so I ran.

Yeah i think it might be a rebadged Cygnus. Has all the most of the extras though. Previous owner probably spent come cash getting the extra's on.

their was never a diesel lexus lx , it is a rebadged toyota land cruiser cygnus , basically a lexus with toyota badges .
Yes I think you are right. It seems the front badge has been changed however it has all the extras of a Cygnus.
