Dang those are cool Phil. did anyone ever trip/slip on those tubing arches?

Cool, thanks for the info. I think I'm gonna cut them off after the mounts and maybe add another 2 mounts for stability. I don't have a bender but I was looking at picking up a JD2 Model 3. That one can't bend .250 though. Wonder if I should just use 2x3 3/16" square tubing for the base slider and rub rails. Thoughts on that?

I can bend 1.5 .250 if you have measurements and $(I'm running out of the 1.25" so I'm stingy). It's sleeved 1.5 and 1.25 .125" wall. My Tranny/Tcase skid/mount thing and upper link/drag link and panhard are all made of that.

The sliders we built for my 94 and 'capt ahab' on pirate were all the same material and I don't think rich/bebe or miklos(new owner) ever mentioned a bend issue. Mine did somewhat up by the cat convertor area as I impatiently wheeled it before doing the mount/skid at that location :(

im in need of sliders in the near future.. where are we at with these. ps i like phils sliders but need them to stick out a lil further for added body protection

I'll be honest with you guys I havent done much with them. Between all the bumper orders and racks I havent had much time to sleep let alone finish my design. But soon I will. Give me a little more time and I'll have them together guys. Thanks for your interest.

Well I dont for see much in the way of price dropping... in all actuality I dont even know what they sell for. I anticipate pricing being around $700.00 powder coated. These will be weld on so the ends of the outriggers will need primer and paint. I'll be putting up a couple of pics here in a little bit.

That's about what bior, wkor, etc go for.

Gap, space, or step here for front driver or passenger? Outstanding effort, keep up the good work!

Ya Boots, I'm gonna put another step there where you've circled. I said that to myself as soon as I looked at the pics. Good eye sir.

Do I have anyone's attention???

Thoughts?? Ideas (only rational please), questions, comments, concerns???

I wouldn't call those sliders. No offense. Those would hang up on everything I would want to slide over.

I hate to agree and be discouraging but these are not looking right to me. Your bumpers are win. This prototype is not so win.

If your mounts are solid and your happy with them thats 3/4 the battle won. The 2x3" IMHO is the best size for the main. As for the rub rail thats up to you. I would use tubing if you can or you can miter your step/ rub rail like I did before I had a bender

My vote is for these, The hoops and small steps aren't my cup of tea. My wife needs/wants an actual full Step and that's the only way I'm going to justify Sliders LOL

What happens when people's feet, or children's legs get caught on all that and someone does a face plant with broken feet/leg still stuck up in that 'stuff'?

How does all that stuff serve as a rock SLIDER?

I thought I remember a pic someone posted of something similar, but it was more subtle/abbreviated? Landcruzrphil I believe.

I like the look, the flat bottom is the slide and the hoops are body protection. Very nice

Dude you were gonna make these not to long ago I thought for someone. And those hoops tuck to the sill tightly so no trip hazard there. The steps need to be pushed out a little further IMO and made a little wider. The purpose these sliders serve is that it offers a stepping point, sill protection from the sides and underneath, weight savings which should be a priority with these rigs again IMHO, ***clean look***,*** something different***. The hoops may catch if your rubbing a tree or boulder but then again they may slide by, we dont know yet... will test. The hoops are set about a 25 degree angle to the main body of the slider so they dont stick out much at all. I dont know... I might scrap em and do something else yet, still figuring it out. Never know what tomorrow will bring when your bi-polar right? :flipoff2:
