Bored at work today so I thought I'd share a recent project that pulled me away from the truck.
The scuffed, scratched and beaten look of the used Demo 8 I got last year wasn't doing it for me, so I did something about it.
Paint stripper, clean and rough up, primed, sanded, painted, painted again, wet sanded, clear coated and topped with some 3M paint protection in a few critical spots. New Tacoma cement grey with hot rod satin black. 2K matte clear coat. Looks killer up close, but I'm worried about the longevity of it. While it was apart i repacked the bearings, cleaned everything as much as possible. New rims, pedals and chain ring, but everything else reused.
Going to throw it down a mountain at Fernie this weekend, so I guess I'll find out how well it holds up.
