Alright so i saw this camaro around town with RED projectors and HIDs. Is there anyway i can do this on my Lx.I think they are called devil eyes, but waws just wonderin what yalls opinions on these were and how to get/install....christmas is just around the corner and this is lookin like a good present
You pull apart the projector assembly, and paint the outward side of the cutoff shroud (away from the bulb) whatever color you want. During the day when there is ambient light shining in from the outside of the lens, it reflects that color in the projector. When the lights are illuminated, the shroud functions as normal and you can't see the added color since it's on the opposite side from the bulb.
Also, as a warning to sailor95. Even steady red/blue lights towards the front are illegal. They dont have to flash for you to get a ticket. In some states it can be a SERIOUS fine/misdemeanor/felony depending on how annoyed the officer is that night.
No, you can't add anything red to the front of your vehicle (especially red halo's). Not in GA anyways. If you aren't adding anything that lights up red, you should be fine. But using a red shield still reflects red in the day time, even though it's not "lighting" up, it's still illegal and a large fine could happen.
Why don't you just order some CCFL rings and put them on? I would keep the stock LX headlights and do angel eyes in white.
Have you guys seen the new-ish Buick SUV's? I forget the model name, but they came out a few years back and they have a blue colored bezel around the projector. Not sure what the purpose is, I just find it funny that they basically have a "blue" colored device in a forward-facing position on a OEM stock headlight assembly.
Coming from someone who loves pointless cosmetic upgrades, why? I mean I understand the HIDs. That's next on my list for the LC, but it'd prb look really dumb to have some red halo on the headlights on a white LX.
As for "pointless" check out my very old thread for tail lights then. It's basically the "ghettofab" way of a tail light upgrade.
This may not be alot of your thing, but sailor95s 470 is sick looking and honestly, the red halos would look decent. Its pretty "thug." black rims, super dark tint, sweet system and new exhaust/intake.
