has any body done a desiel conversion to their 100x yet,
be interested to see who has or who would like to do it
would it be easier to get a half cut to do it so u cn have the manual transmission as well

I asked around and the price including the half cut was about 25k.

what's the name of the company that does the conversion or sells the ft clips? I would be interested someday long from now when my hundy over 300k + mi and ready for complete a complete restoration. :D

probably stating the obvious here, if you got a half cut then you'd get the ECU and the wiring loom etc. The manual ECU is, i beleive, different to the auto ECU, but will the transmission tunnel of your auto be ok with the manual? Do you need a different tail shaft/propeller shaft ?
You;d be able to sell off bits you didn't need to re-coup your cost.

I'm wondering tho would it be easier to import the full LC over? I mean youre going to have to change some things that you may not even thought of - like the fuel filler - do you have different nozzle sizes over there for diesel and petrol/gasoline ? Are the fuel tanks you have suitable for diesel? (i'm asking that one coz i dont know).
cheers

I talked to a shop in Salina, CO who has done some 80 inline-6 conversions but they had yet to touch a 100 series truck. They would do the mods but they would not guarantee passing any smog tests, etc. They talked about the conversion as purely an off-road mod.

Cummins! now they make nice engines
i was priveleged enough to get a tour of their plant down here after i fixed up a computer issue they had had for weeks. (1990/1)

Man and they have doubled in size here since then. What a great company!
cheers

Powerstroke

I am looking at joining the hundred club, but was also thinking about future upgrades, and a V8 power stroke diesel came to mind with rear turbos.... would want to convert to a manual also, anyone think this would be possible?

Alan Podvin built this nice little 100 series tow rig with a 6.6L Duramax.

These rigs are works of art so they won't lead you to the plug-and-play solution everybody wants.

WHere is the post about the guy from Canada, converting a 100 to a 1HD-FTE.
