This is a more recent copy of a survival document that the West Oz police provides. I try to keep the latest version on my website since it can be somewhat 'challenging' to find it on the their website.

It's obviously oz specific - but since we're talking desert travel in this thread, I'm sure most of the info in the document is pertinent.

I assume most folk haven't seen this document, at least in the US, so hope you guys find some of the info useful. Some of it may seem somewhat melodramatic but folk that have spent a few weeks in the desert will appreciate the applicability of the information it contains.

saved to my laptop, for those long shifts at stations w/o wi-fi, but as a SW desert dweller I had to skim it briefly, and it's worth a deeper read.

Amazing the AU Gov maintains it as a copyright-free resource (p2) to mitigate 2.2 outback deaths/yr (44 over 20y, p 21).
