Hi all – finally thinking to part ways with my '04 LX470. No accidents, no leaks, no check engine light. Garage-kept by me and the two previous owners. Two keys and clean title in hand.
Originally from South Florida, the truck moved to Kentucky (2013), then Tennessee (2017), where I bought it in 2022 from an older couple. I flew out from Denver and drove it 1,300 miles home.
I wanted a clean, stock example to use as a mild off-road/camping platform. Ended up adding 33” BFGs and a cargo/sleeping platform, but never got around to further mods — a downpayment on a home and a wedding took priority.
It drives just as well as when I bought it. Of the ~50k miles I’ve added, a third are from highway trips to visit family. Interior is clean and well-kept. Front seats show some normal wear, but I’ve conditioned them regularly and recently added seat covers (included). Third row seats are in storage and look just as good as the second row (see images).
The night vision unit works, but after the original glass cracked, I had it replaced with aftermarket glass that doesn’t display IR. The new windshield has three rock chips (unchanged for two years after picking them up within two weeks after installation).
Major maintenance:
Exterior is in pretty good shape overall with typical rock chips for a 21-year-old vehicle, but it cleans up nicely. Most visible blemish is a scuff on the front driver-side bumper from a parking garage bump I received downtown while at a baseball game a couple years back.
Tires went on in February 2022 and have just shy of 50k miles, but still have a good amount of tread.
GROM unit installed for Bluetooth audio/phone (in glovebox). It’s CarPlay/Android capable, but I just use a magnetic mount and stream music/take calls.
I really do love this truck and planned to keep it long-term (window visors and seat covers were ordered just a few months ago), but with life shifting and more of my driving taking place on the pavement, I’ve been reconsidering.

Major maintenance:
- Timing belt/water pump at 180k
- Spark plugs replaced at 202k
- Brake booster/master cylinder replaced at 207k
- AHC system drained/refilled at 216k – functions perfectly; globes were replaced under previous owner
- New OEM steering rack, power steering hoses, and rebuilt driveshaft at 238k
- Oil changed every 5k miles; I keep notes and have most receipts digitally
