I'm up for an Ocala trip. See you all there.

southeast fl mechanics

really want to do an engine swap. not sure what to go with yet but i know i want to do it for several reasons. anybody know of a good fj40 mechanic in or around southeast florida???? even up to Orlando would be fine. thanks

Some of it would depend on what motor you wanted to swap and what you could do yourself. If you wanted to pay someone to do the whole thing there are a couple folks in Ocala or G-ville.

The question still stands , what are you needing done ? Maybe I missed something , if you can try to come to Hard Rock of Ocala on Feb 25 & 26 .

There's a guy in Apopaka that knows the 40's , 60's , 80's like the back of his hand . I think he might have written the repair manual for them . Anyway he goes by LC60 . Check with him I'm sure he would love to help you out . He is a very nice and helpful person .

I don't need anything done yet, just looking a trustworthy mechanic familiar and passionate about cruisers.

I would love to make it to Hard Rock but my son has baseball on weekends for the next 3 months. Sounds like a lot of fun though.

No see-ums...

:meh:
Where have all the pictures gone,
Gone to "junk" drawers in your home,
Where have all the pictures gone,
We need to see those of Richloam.:)

Where can all the videos be seen,
Seen by us to point and laugh,
Where can all the videos be seen,
For us to watch till we crash.:steer:

Where are the pictures you took,
Us without would like to view,
Where are the pictures you took,
We would like to see them too.:bounce:

Had a techincal problem , I hit the wrong button . The pictures from Richloam are in a far , far away frame now .

Is this one your rigs?

Hey Gang,

A good friend is looking for her first 80. She sent me this CL link.

TOYOTA LAND CRUISER 91

Wondering if it is anyone on the boards? Or one of your buddies. I am only in Miami one night (tonight) to look at it for her.

Maybe one of y'all has something similar you are looking to sell?

Thanks for the help.

Doug

This ’79 FJ40 belonged to Tim Desselle who died in an auto accident a number of years ago. His family is finally at a point that they can part with their son’s cruiser.

I do not know anything about the cruiser except what I can see in the photos.

I received the following from Tim’s father:

Jerry:

I don't know whether you will remember this or not - but my son, Tim Desselle, was a member of your club years ago. Tim was killed in an auto accident in 2003. The only names my wife and I remember from the club were yours and a Jim Harrangody.I'm not even sure Jim's still a member - but that name just rings a bell. Anyway, we have had Tim's rig (Sasquatch) all these years - but now feel it's time to sell it. It's a 1979 FJ40. We do have all of the doors and the hard top. It has 36" Super Swampers, a Warn Wench and Lockers. We would like to get $3500.00 for the whole thing. We thought that possibly getting the info out to your club members might be a good way to reach some folks that would be interested.
We live in Palmetto and the rig is here. If interested, call Dale or Carole 941 721-0264.

Here are the pictures that his father sent along:

I'm going to see if the owner will let us do a after dark trail ride . I'm hopeful he will cause as you know the trails look alittle different at night.

Any luck with the FLCA.org pics?

I remember talking about all the pictures that we had on rhe old FLCA site, was there any hope of retrieving them from whence they came?

I have about all early FLCA pictures on computer or disk.

Let me know what you may be looking for. Maybe I can put them on a Photo Bucket type server.

Jerry
