For some reason I'm having a heck of a time connecting to the OBD connection. It apparently has a short or something as I have to press and hold it just right to get a scan for just the codes. It won't stay connected long enough to get any more info.

I've checked every connection but considering the vehicle ran great before I decided to "fix" it, I'm open to any suggestions. I don't see any loss or missed connections, everything seems to be connected correctly. I just went to get a multi meter reading on the water temp sensor and the yellow part inside cracked and fell apart in my hands. The sensor itself is cracked so I will be replaced that and the connector. Hopefully I don't need to buy the whole wire assembly, I can' only imagine how much that would cost.

that terminal is hammered. they appear to be stretched or opened up and likely aren't grabbing the male terminal well.
probably similar on your obd conn.
unpin and fix or replace them and youll probably be good.
also inspect your ignitor plug for similar damage.

One thing I'll add is that the days of filling the radiator up and burping it are long gone. Do it right, do it once, do it with a vacuum filler. Any of the ones you find on Amazon or wherever else will do you just fine. And just like using a vacuum evacuator to do your oil changes, you'll never go back to the old way of filling coolant once you use it.
