Hi I'm a newbie here, I am about to by a new LC, now comes the dilemma, should I wait for the 2016 or go for a new 2015 with 10% off offered by the dealer?

I think the 2016 might come with the same 8 speed as the new LX announced, what do you think?

depends what one you like for looks and function.

i got a '14 new a year ago for $68k -- so pricing can certainly be wiggled.

16 doesn't look good enough to pay the premium and even with an 8spd, it's functionally very close IMHO. You can get a smoking deal on a 14 or 15 and then use ur savings to outfit it as you like.

I would imagine you can buy a 16 with similar discounts, but that will likely be 6 months to a year from now. I am guessing December/Jan before any 16 LCs hit the lots in the US.

I would say the 16 is an improvement over the 15, but not really an option for several months.

So if you can wait, then get the 16, if you need one sooner, then nothing really wrong with buying a 15.

Thanks for the input, I'll probably go for the 15, can't wait as I have the LC itch
And I don't think the difference will be worth the wait or the price.

I cannot believe how much better it feels driving compared to a 2015 Yukon Denali I also test drove the same day, the LC feels so much more solid and smooth.

And thanks for all of you on this forum, I've learned a lot about the LC by lurking in the shadows of this forum, and that really pushed me to go for it.

I've had many cars/suv in my life, and I always wanted something like the LC.
A true go anywhere anytime comfy transportation device.

I pulled the trigger on new '14 in February with no pressure -- easily have waited but didn't see the point. Still pleased with my decision and plan to keep it till which ever one of us dies first. It's a win/win so enjoy which ever you choose.

As I'm now shopping for my second 200, I can tell u from my experience they are the most solid, well built, confidence inspiring suv's on the road. My wife drove my 08 for two months this summer and will now settle for nothing less.

You will not regret the decision to join our ranks.

The 8 speed will very likely be a nicer transmission to drive. Quicker shifts at a minimum, slightly better MPG. For those that enjoy off roading, the 1st gear in the 8 speed will likely be significantly lower that the current 6 speed. With the proper axle gear ratio, we can get lower crawl ratios.

All true, nothing I have owned or driven has ever felt as solid and well built. The fit and finish is incredible.
What really blows me away is they still feel the same after 50,000 miles. I have one with 20k and one with 50k and you pretty much have to look at the odometer to tell them apart.

I have had Tahoe's, Grand Cherokee's, Denalie's, Navigators etc etc etc. nothing compares to LC. That is not to say LCs are perfect, but I have yet to find anything better.

I have worked at several different dealers(never Toyota and never a LC) and drove many types of SUV's. Then got to drive My dads 200(lx570).. its probably the most refined and most capable out of the box you can get.. I can't wait till the snow comes and see that thing in action with my own eyes..

Working on getting the final $ discussion on my trade in so I can get my 2015 LC.
I have the choice between a Silver with Black interior or a Black with Cream interior.

I prefer cream interior with a lighter outside color, but I don't have that option.

For those of you who have black outside, how hard is it to keep clean and how hot is it when the car is sitting outside by 90 degree temperature.

I do not hand wash and use car wash, does the black paint shows swirls and blemishes due to the use?

All the cars I've had recently were light colored outside.

Thoughts?

I just learned that there is a 2011 with 50K miles that was just traded in at the local Merc dealer.
It's black. what are the major differences between a 2011 and 2015 ?

I have a 13 which is very similar to a 15. The '11 has a DVD-based nav (instead of HDD) and a slightly older version of Entune. Gauge cluster internally is different as well as the front end. (HID headlights with LEDs for 13+.) There are also some differences in front suspension as well as 5 speeds of crawl control instead of 3.

That's all I can think of off the top of my head right now...

Thanks, Still think I'll go with a new one that I'll keep until the 300 series it out. They are giving me a decent deal.

FWIW, we're seeing 2015s go for around $72k in Texas via Truecar pricing, if you need a data point. Better than 10%.

2013-2015 has ventilated seats as well. Not that big of deal but if live somewhere hot it's kinda nice, especially with black interior.
