I'll crawl out of my cave for this one for sure. Looks friggen sweet in the pic, can't wait to see inside Moonshine.

Know all my (well, most, you can't have all my homebrew) resources are at your disposal, plenty of 1.5/.120, 1.75/.120, 1.5x1.5/.250 tubing, some 1/4", 1/8" and a few tools that may help. I've also got a propane heater and an extra EZ-up, just in case. I'll also bring a couple hands to throw into the mix.

Let me know if/how I can help before then...

Dude, thank you very much!!

I've been meaning to call you actually. I was hoping to buy some steel from you to fabricate a transmission crossmember as well as some frame side motor mounts. I was thinking about 4' of that 1.5" square tubing, as well as a couple of square feet of 3/8" or 1/4" plate. How much $ would you like in exchange?

It might be best to come by and see what I have, just in case we need to make an order. I'm getting a bit low on some plate.

I've got 2 pieces of 5/16" steel I've been saving for front bumper/winch mount or maybe a heavy crossmember, they might work well for your situation considering how light that engine is.

In any event, let me know when you might have time to visit or I can do some measuring to see how much you need as compered to what I have on the shelf.

In any event, I'll be glad to help...

Johnny I really wish I could make this for various reasons but I will be traveling to Dallas early monday morning. Sounds like you will have a great group to lend a hand and have no doubt you all will have it finished up and cruising on bio/veg shortly.

No worries Greg! Enjoy your trip out to Dallas, should be warmer down there :D

Hopefully Moonshine will be back up and running in not too long.

Wait, did we talk about this Johnny? I'm going to be in Madagascar that week????

Hahahaha!!!!! Looking forward to it! Might see if meatball will stop at Bridgeton poultry to get the chickens :D

I dont think 5/16" will work.....i think you need 10/32" plate....:flipoff2::flipoff2:
inside joke aside, thats beefy! 3/16" - 1/4" would work great and be easy to work with unless someone brings a porta band or plasma.

Johnny,
Count me in....
do you have an exhaust v-band flange for the turbo and a down pipe, or at least the start of a down pipe? I was thinking of helping some with the exhaust fabrication to atleast get it from blowing into the firewall.......
ill bring my drive-shaft building tools.....glue and gum:hillbilly:

 Dude, you know I love that 10/32" plate :hillbilly:

I do have a v-band flange for the turbo, as well as a down pipe. The down pipe is long enough that it'll get me from the turbo down to the transfer case, and I *think* that there will be enough space between the t-case and the frame to run the exhaust down the passenger side of the chassis. Do you have any 3" exhaust tube lying around? I was thinking of just picking up a section from autozone and a little turndown to get the exhaust pointed at the ground for now.

That's how you balanced your driveshaft :hmm:

Jerry, would you mind bringing your chop saw as well as the plasma? I'm going to get out and take measurements tonight so I can get some concrete numbers going.

Thanks all!

I will have to leave by 3 on sat. So u wont have me around for my Astro aeronautical engineering and surleperlative welding skills

Whoa, whoa, whoaaaaaa. The Weller Inn has a 2 night minimum stay - did you not read the fine print when you booked?

Friday night, we are headed to see Old Habits at Lincoln Theatre downtown. If anyone wants to join us, please do. They are a fun bluegrass band, and Ashcroft is good friends with the guitarist. We've been to see them a bunch and they put on a fun show. The cover is $10 and Lincoln is a great music venue. This is their annual "Christmas Bash" and apparently they will be doing a tribute to the late Levon Helm from The Band.

 Ramon

Sorry johnny got a bday party. The meatball is in demand.
