Hey everybody. Been lurking on the site for a while but first time posting. I find that 90% of the time I can find all the info I need and more with good old search button. In fact, thanks to the help you've all given me with info already here, I installed a Slee kit with Slee Heavy rear coils, torsion bars, and SPC upper arms this weekend on my new to me 2001 Land Cruiser. Went with the heavies because the truck already had the Slee double swing out rear and Blueberry front bumpers. Anyway, the reason for this post is I have an issue that I've been unable to find any info on. The truck is not a daily driver. I picked it up about 6 weeks ago and it had been sitting in my garage for about the last 3 without moving. When I parked it everything was good. But when I started it after sitting, the ABS, VSC Trac, VSC Off, and Brake lights all stayed on. I drove it around the block, shut it off, and restarted it and everything was fine. I pulled the code by shorting the E1 and TC Terminals (another trick learned here) and got a code 43 - deceleration sensor malfunction. I cleared the code and everything is good as long as I don't go very long without driving it. If it sits a few hours, no lights. If it sits a day or 2, I get the code again. I don't understand why it sets the code after sitting and not moving for a while, shouldn't the deceleration sensor malfunction when it's decelerating? Or at least moving? Also, is this something that can be easily changed on my own? I fairly mechanical and am comfortable with most repairs, just a little Leary with electrical / computer stuff. I know it will require a zero point calibration if it's replaced. Is it possible that it just needs re calibrated? The truck's going to Slee Off-road later this week for an alignment, which includes a zero point calibration so it would be great if that was the issue.
Thanks in advance for any help.
