I'm finially getting around to getting my spring over off the ground on my FJ60. It's too expensive to drive around much, so time for it to become a trail rig. i've got beefed up springs and am planning to use 4x4 labs high steer.

This morning I ordered the Trail Gear 6 stud knuckles. I'll be using 4x4 Labs 6 stud high steer arms.

What says the collected wisdom here? Good move or bad? I know there is a bit of controversy about TG here and I want to hear what people think. Believe me, if Marlin sold them, I would have bought from him, but he doesn't and neither does anyone else.

If this is too much like chat, move it there, I won't be offended.

couple of things off the top of my head

Why not just go with the 5th stud?

If your already going through Luke, have him go to D44 studs?

I think there are better options rather then supporting thieves.

I thought about the d44 studs, but I've not seen them installed. Luke does have a cool thing to weld to the knuckle to make it into a 6 stud knuckle-I am going to use that on my FJ40 just to play with it and see how well I can weld to the existing cast knuckle. I have seen 1 set done like that at Luke's shop, but it was a prototype and not quite ready for wide release.

Any more thoughts about TG and the 6 shooters? Anyone actually use them? The few I have seen installed, looked like minor grinding was needed to fit the brake caliper bolts in place.
