Put a new hei from man a fre in my 60, worked great, only have a few hundred miles on it. Driving down the road, it just dies.....have power to unit, but no spark. Replaced module, nothing, replaced coil......still nothing, thoughts?

I've seen it before they don't last long in my experience....also the shaft bushing will seize up and start to cause issues too...I'd take a used 60 dizzy over an HEI any day.

I'd contact Man-a-fre and see if you can get it warrantied pronto, if your going to stick with the HEI

Fired up warmed up ran great......today tries to start but won't....think it's going in the river, OEM in search of.

Go back to the large cap OEM dizzy.. Much more reliable.

I've lost 4 of different brands. Three of mine from the bushing wearing down and allowing the stator to contact the pickup coil.
The DUI version had the weights come of while driving. The result was a bent shaft. None are built as well as the original GM HEI.
I haven't got 20,000 miles on one yet. The three EBAY units barely made it past 10,000

Classifieds here would be a good start :)

Boy.....Man a Fre sure is hard to deal with, replaced distributor that bushings failed in, but sent wrong one without clamp, called, said they would send one right away, week later no distributor. Call them and they have no idea what I'm talking about??? Re explain everything and tell me the mechanical advance is correct.......no I purchased the vacuum advance.....I said I'll pay another $30 to return when I have the correct one in my hand......seems to be a trend
