I posted already and got no response. My positive battery cable connector was corroded so bad it broke when trying to disconnect it. I had to cut the connector off and now I cannot find a cable splice kit for a 2 gauge battery cable. Does anyone have a good fix for this? It’s stuck in the driveway with a cut cable. I really didn’t want to run a whole new cable unless absolutely necessary. Thanks in advance

Go to a real electrical supply house and buy a 2 gauge fresh piece of wire and a splice. Strip off enough bad wire to get to good wire and make the splice with a good deal of dielectric grease. Wrap the splice with enough electrical tape to prevent grounding/arcing. Attach a new battery connection to the end along with dielectric grease. Then get the proper wire and install it.

The auto stores near me have 2 gauge cable but no splice connectors
Look in the Yellow Pages for "Electrical Supply", it should be where contractors buy materials. Not Home Depot or Lowes. Doubt they would have what you need.

Those are good but you're gonna have to crimp the wire in or solder (sweat) the wire in or both. Try and find a splice that is held in by set screws or something similar.
Something like this:
Or an audio power cable splice, usually cheap and easy to use. Probably find them at auto supply store or you favorite big box store.

So the only good fix for a corroded connector is a complete cable replacement?
You have to assume that whatever caused the corrosion in the first place may have spread further up the cable and could cause a problem or fire when you are in Bumfuck, Egypt without a fire extinguisher. That little problem now may be a huge one later. Don't just rely on a driveway fix in this situation.
