So I notice Bay to Blue Ridge Cruisers as well as Capitol City Cruisers aren't listed on the TLCA clubs page. I've emailed the contacts at both these clubs with no response. Are these clubs active? Are there any TLCA and/or non-TLCA land cruiser people around DC or N. VA? I want to hit Edinburg Gap and check it out. Anyone interested?

I'm a new member of the Capital Land Cruiser Club. It's still active. We had a couple paperwork issues, but as of the beginning of this month, we are a chapter in good standing, again. :bounce:

Attendance has been down somewhat lately, but we’re trying to fix that. We’ve got someone working on our website, and we’ll be planning some more events in the Fall – swap meet, trail rides, tech days, etc. We still meet at 7:30 on the first Wednesday of each month at Jack Taylor Toyota in Alexandria, VA. We actually are getting together this weekend to spring over a 62.

As for heading out to Peter’s Mill in Edinburg, check this out https://forum.ih8mud.com/showthread.php?t=56330

Felix,

I am going to see if I can come out and meet up with you guys for you next meeting. How many usually show?

Not anything anymore for the peninsula, as far as a club goes. Bay to Blue ridge, and Capitol City are the closest for me, but not quite close enough.

Hey Tony,

Yeah, come on out! Our next meeting is September 7th. It would be great to see more 80-series representation.

As for numbers - well, August was light (4 people  ), but August is always light. With everyone coming back from vacation and getting their kids back in school, we probably should have about 8-12 people at the next meeting. It still should be bigger, though. Once we get some hard dates for these events in the fall, it should be easier to to some more outreach and get people in the area interested.

At the next meeting we'll be nailing down the details of our participation in a multi-club trail clean-up down in GWNF on September 24th. :bounce:

I just attended a meeting for Bay to Blue Ridge Landcruisers. They are in the process of becoming TLCA’s newest chapter. They meet once a month and alternate between Ashland and somewhere near Fredericksburg. Contact Rob Matzell ( also pres of Va. 4 wheelers association) for more info. rmatzell@aol.com.

They are planning a trip to Paragon or Crozet for mid September!

Thanks for the info guys. Alexandria is closer to where I live so I'll probably drop in on the Capitol City meeting.

Felix, Tony...

I just saw this and it sounds pretty cool, somehow i got the impression this club had kind of died out, i guess i was totally wrong. Maybe i'll try to come to the next meeting

Brandon, I would say it's died down but not out.

Ken,
I belong to a non-TLCA club the Capital Area Off Road Enthusiasts made up of folks from Virginia and Maryland. You and anyone else reading this are always welcome on any of our trails rides. I think we have one scheduled for Sept. 24 to the GWNF.

Check out our trail reports: Click here.

If anyone is interested, we're going to the Dolly Sods area of West Virginia on Oct. 8 for an overnight trail run.

Looks us up and maybe I can tag along on some of your trail rides too.

Just a heads up. . .

Woody was gracious enough to create a CLCC sub-forum for us. Hopefully, I can get some of the more of the CLCC guys addicted to MUD. Anyway, check it out. I'll be posting info soon about upcoming events.

I'm in Bay to Blue Ridge and we are going through some changes right now. We've got some good leaders and are trying to do at least 1 thing a month. We're headed to Paragon next weekend. Check out the events section.

We're in the process of becoming a TLCA sanctioned club.

Capital is definitely closer for you, but come wheel with us....

Kris
