Currently running the T3‘s with the SD pads. It’s about time for new pads but wondering what the general consensus is on doing the rotors every time? Resurface (not sure they can be), replace, or just swap in new pads? Thinking of running the XP’s the time. Thanks for feedback!

If they’re smooth and not pulsing, grab a micrometer and measure their thickness. If it’s within spec, just swap the pads and run them.

I have Centric cryogenic-dipped slotted rotors and I did just a pad swap last summer. I was running HD pads before but switched to ceramic because the HD pads were noisy (groaning) around town and on trails and I got tired of being “that guy”. Braking performance has been fine after just the pad swap, and even towing through the mountains of TN in March I’ve not had any issues with heat dissipation or brake fade. YMMV of course.

I’ll likely swap rotors next time even if they are writhing spec (which they probably won’t be)

I would check with DBA, but have a hard time imagining they need to be replaced or even resurfaced given how robust they are.
That’s what I’m thinking too. I’ve got about 30k miles on the pads/rotors no vibrations a little low speed squeak here and there when braking but otherwise nothing noticeable. Do you have any idea what min thickness spec is? Thanks

I get cold weather brake squeal at low speed. I just tell my wife it is big brake problems. Has no implication for resurfacing or replacement though. I don’t know what spec is but I am sure DBA can tell you. I honestly think you could go double that mileage without resurfacing or replacement.

DBA advised the minimum thickness spec for the LC200 at 29mm.

No resurfacing unless there is a problem.
As when you'll need resurfacing, you'll have to find a shop that can resurface slotted rotors. Not all do.

FSM says 3mm from nominal. That means 29mm for up to 2016.
They changed front brakes in 2016 and I do not know if disc thickness remained the same.

I contacted DBA and was told 29mm minimum thickness.
