Hello to the forum from a guy that just bought a 1994 LC. The PO had broken off the antenna, so one of my projects was to install a new one. Dashboard removed, no problem. Antenna cable snaked to the radio, no problem. Now to re-install the dashboard...and I must of messed up.

In order to gain clearance, I turned the key to ON, and moved the gearshift selector down to D, then turned the key off and went to work. No problem, or so I thought. Moved the shifter back to P and went to try the radio by turning the key ON again. Dang~~it won't budge. Tried another key just for grins, and nothing doing.

Is there an interlock that I need to know about? Thanks in advance from a newbie.

Call to the dealer... techs were out to lunch and SA had no idea. Local wrench had no idea besides maybe replacing the ignition switch. On a whim, I disconnected the battery; hoping to re-boot the CPU (if it has one?). Anyway, ten minutes later I hooked battery back up and the ignition key worked as always. Lucky guess. Dashboard is back together (again), and the radio sounds a lot better with an antenna signal!
