My 80 came with this Slee battery minder, which has recently started auditioning for the Pink Floyd light show, so I need to remove it. Before I rip the whole dash apart, does anyone know the right way to get these out? I can't reach it from behind,.and I dont want to put any more damage on the plate by jamming anything in the front (it fits tight - not even a razor blade would fit).

Just pull that lower bezel off it’s only a couple screws.

pop one of the switches below it out and snake a finger in behind to push it out.

Do any of them come out without ramming a screwdriver in the gap?
If you can't pop them out with a fingernail, this works great:

Take an old credit card and use a file, sandpaper, or the surface of a sidewalk or parking lot to rub one corner down thin and tapered. Could shave it with a pocket knife if you want . It does not have to be pretty. I did what you see in the picture a minute ago just to show what I mean. and then popped three (tight) blanks out just because I could. ;)

You can push this into the seam of the switch blank and it will wedge it up. No damage at all. Can usually get ANY blank out this way, but it is almost certain that one if not all of the three in your pic will pop out easy.

If you don't have an old card, damage to a corner won't affect the cards ability to swipe or tap or insert or whatever. ;)

Not the most professional looking tool. But it is cheap and quick and it works.
