Story: Purchased as the third car for the family last September with 203,000. My wife likes driving it more than expected but wants the niceties that come with a 200 series. I'm a pretty easy guy to work with and this will make my 4th car to sell on Mud. Please let me know what other questions or pictures you would like to see. Will respond to DM's with my contact info. Happy to pick you up at local airport if you are brave enough to fly in!

In an attempt to eliminate the "the car is making a funny noise" call, I dove into the maintenance and call myself knocking out the major items.

Recent Maintenance
October: All driveline fluids replaced
November 2019: Spark plugs and ignition coils replaced. Oil pressure sending unit replaced
December 2019: Water Pump, Timing Belt, Tensioners, Idlers, Radiator, hoses, heater t's, V Belt, fan clutch, Fan Pulley Bracket
January 2019: Steering Rack, Outer Tie Rods, alignment
January 2019: New battery
January 2019: Rebuilt Starter Installed

Known Issues:
CV on the driver's side is making clicking noise at low speed with the wheel turned. I can hear it when the window is rolled down.
No plug in the back for trailer light hookup.
Radio reception not good with small antenna.
Nickle size bad paint spot on hood.
Driver's side bolster adjustment doesn't work.
One small crack in top of dash where someone must have mounted a GPS at some point.
Auto dimming rear view inop
Steering wheel won't move up or down.

Positives:
No rust.
The maintenance is all up to date and the lurking major items have been replaced.
No funky smells, carpet in great shape, and seats not torn up
Gets lots of thumbs up from Jeep/Range Rover owners.

Add ons
•ARB Front Bumper
•Smittybuilt Winch
•OME 2.5 lift.
•305/75/18 BFG AT's with 9k miles

Thank you for looking. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Hi Doc, thanks for your message. I replied.

For those following along at home. I dropped off the truck at Mayo Automotive yesterday to have the CV clicking sorted and the driveline greased.

He thinks its probably just the wheel bearing and not the CV. Still waiting on the verdict. The bearings got repacked last summer and rebooted but I dunno. Ahmad did say he would complete a prebuy if anyone's interested.

Thanks!

I've tried a number of people over the years in Dallas. I just had a lot of work done on my 100 series by Ahmad Mayo. He was the head mechanic at a Toyota Dealership here for 15 years. Recently he broke off and started his own Toyo shop in Lewisville, TX. I think the quality and price was very reasonable. He works on all Toyotas from the last 25 years, so 100 and 200 series, as well as the LX variants. Feel free to text him at 214-289-7493, or email him at mayoautomotivellc@gmail.com .

Update #2. I just got off the phone with Mayo Automotive.

They recommended replacing both front wheel bearings, upper and lower ball joints. While it's torn apart they are going to replace the front pads and front rotors. I’ve approved the work and it should be completed tomorrow. Otherwise, he gave it a clean bill of health.
