Everyone knows where Pappas is. Not Hard 8.
I dont know where Pappas is, or how to get there. But I do know it would only take a few minutes to google the location and driving directions, so its not impossible to find, so the same can be said about Hard8. Thats how i found it.
And if the two places are only separated by 10 miles, then there must be another reason members are not showing up.
I kinda felt like I was going to TTR meetings when I went to Hard 8, and not to LSLC meetings. It was kinda nice when both met at the same place, same night, but at separate ends of the same building. But I realize that TTR will be staying at Hard 8.
From what I have seen, the members who show up seem to get along fine, and dont mind cutting up with each other. Each group stays in its seperated respected gathering area, to not bother each other during the clubs anouncements. So there is a distance between the two groups, but not to far for dual members, like myself, to see the friends i have in both clubs.
Is there some resentment or animosity to the Toyotas that are not landcruiser, or the TTR guys for their ability to have consistant presence at the monthly meetings?
One great idea the TTR guys actively do is having WATs=Wrench-A-Thons. They get together on weekends to finish up maintenance that is needed on their rigs. Whether it be for help of a second set on hands, the knowledge or camaraderie.
I never made it to the old location for meetings, so i can't speak of the pros and cons and compare the two. I just think we as a club need to rethink our ideas and bring back the friends who have similar interests and get active trying to recuit new members. Maybe using the windshield flier method, i dont know.
