Just a quick stupid question; I notice when shopping around that the DAC switch is located where the CC selector is on those model enabled. Does that mean that models optioned out that have CC do NOT have DAC, or that its just on inherently and used with CC going downhill giving you the same technology just in a different fashion? I realize that CC is a "nice to have" but not a must and can be added, or achieved with the same results with driver skill etc.

Side note: Base models w/o air suspension, having only the 2 switches for DAC and 4HI-4LO, are easier to lift and have a blank already open to add a locker and other additions such as for lights and so on? This would apply to the BASE-LUXURY trim then, no heated wheel etc.

Thanks for the help.

DAC is just a neutered downhill crawl control at a fixed rate and only controls the brakes and not the accelerator.

Crawl downhill is the same but would be multi-speed and could use the accelerator if needed.

FYI: '10-'13 Premium and '14+ Luxury models have adjustable suspension and rear air bags

I took apart my old switch on the ClubLexus thread. Those forward blanks wouldn't be easy to use for other uses. Not impossible but they aren't just simple covers either.

EDIT: Bear in mind I haven't seen a two switch version taken apart so perhaps

EDIT2: If you do buy a non-AVS/RHC model you could use the forward left switch for momentary switch uses and the right could be use for something like a locker as it has three fixed positions.

The MTS mod would give you an adjustable rate ATRAC.

At some point someone will do the crawl mod with simple toggle switches located elsewhere. Wiring diagrams are in that thread too.

Thanks for the reply @22Eyunu35VO. I'll have to see what's under the blank "looking" switches then since those are the non-adjustable susp. models. I have to lookup the ATRAC stuff as well.

MTS is just the computer to control the CC? W/o CC whats the use of MTS?

I once thought that to be true but now several ClubLexus members have confirmed that MTS can work with the DAC skid control profile. When you activate it you will feel a very noticeable difference in throttle/brake mapping.

All driver support computers support crawl... you need special revs to support MTS it in '10-13 & '14+ models.

If you think about it... you already have ATRAC... MTS is just a variable version of that. You can't run MTS and Crawl at the same time so they are effectively two different systems.

I didn't try it out first on mine since I had both parts on hand and did crawl first then MTS.

Ahh ok multi terrain select, sorry I don’t have every acronym memorized just yet. Need to check ATRAC again to. I haven’t seen your thread recently end to end, but how do you select modes once all added? I’m guessing you add all the switches as well at that point too? Start to end what’d you end up out of pocket adding all you did?

MTS is just enabled and controlled with existing switchgear on the right side of steering wheel on all 460s.

MTS module from Japan shipped: $123.17

Console switch shipped from UAE: $272.14

Total: $395.31

Like I have said before ... someone can likely make crawl work with some relatively inexpensive toggle switches... a lot more work to make work but a significant savings.

Gotcha now man, I didn’t know that Mode button controlled that. Very sweet, I’ll definitely add that later on. The CC is another thought but still nice to know it’s doable should I decide to.

That manual is for 14+ correct, a little different layout on the 10-13' models and no cameras to assist?

So anytime shifting to 4HI you can simply lock center diff on the fly, then stop to select your mode should you choose to do so?

For 4LO, stop, lock center diff, choose mode, then proceed, OR choose mode, then choose 4LO switch, then proceed?
