CV Angles after King's OEM kit & SPC UCA install

Not so much a concern about CV wear at the lifted ride height, but there was the thread linked below that seemingly showed a CV vulnerability in the 200-series. Seems associated with suspensions that have significant added droop travel as some of the breakage examples show relatively light load while at almost full droop. The Kings would fit the profile as it notably adds about 2" of droop travel that may put the CV into unreliable territory. Just a theory at the moment however.

Perhaps enough of a concern that I'd probably add the cheap insurance of a diff drop.

So since this thread got bumped, does anyone know where you can get a diff drop currently? That ebay link doesn't work anymore and other suppliers I've checked either say not available or have sketchy details that make it hard to trust it's the right parts.
I got lazy and ordered a Roadsafe kit from Perth Diesel Performance. It's on sale but shipping was like $60 from western Australia.

I see 3 options currently. But yeah they all ship from Australia currently:

Based on input from very trusted people around here (I thought both Budbuilt and Slee), I thought the general consensus was that the diff drop doesn’t make a lot of sense on the 200?

That's the consensus.

I did it because I had a torn boot about 30k after installing the lift. It was a reboot already (also 30k miles on it) so TBD whether it was the lift or the boot, but the tear was at the seam. In my case while I only have a 2" lift, I effectively have a ~2.5" lift up front when towing, maybe a bit more, so it could just be I'm pushing the envelope for needing a DD, or it could be dumb luck.

How long ago did you order it? Their website shows it's $179 AUD.

Slee and Cruiser Outfitters doesn't carry them. I ordered some from Overland Expedition Outfitters and the next day they sent me an email saying they are backordered. Reached out to Vivid Racing and they told me they are out as well.

The search continues...

Just recently. It's currently en route.

Actually, I was only going to use the kit to test something. You're welcome to it for whatever my cost is when it gets here.

I bought mine a few years back off Ebay. It was a knock-off of the roadsafe version. I think I paid $65 delivered at the time.

If you're pressed for one you could just order some aluminum spacers and longer bolts. There's a thread where someone made their own with all the correct bolt lengths

FWIW my "OK 4WD" kit looked basically identical to this, except IIRC the aft-mount spacer was slightly different size IIRC. Mine came with spacers for the bash plates that go under the diff mounts - he says he cut them but they weren't in his original photo of parts.

You can search for a Tundra diff drop kit. they should be plentiful. they run the same front diff. i've had an ebay special diff drop on the truck for almost 5 years.

i have blown up a CV or two in my time, but they were caused by improper alignment causing binding on the inner CV joint. No issues since working out the usable limits of SPC upper arm adjustability.

Good point(s)!

Ordered some from Total Chaos. There are cheaper options but I'm ok paying a little more with their reputation. $52 including shipping.

FYI I bought a Tundra/Sequoia kit, which at the time also listed Land Cruiser, and it did NOT have all the parts required. When I asked the company they said they'd made a mistake and gave me a refund. It was missing several spacers. So if you go this route, make sure it has everything the Land Cruiser kit does...

I confirmed with TC that those kits DO NOT work. :bang: I can't win with these kits...
