He guys, thought I would post some pics of my custom cutout area. This was a fairly difficult project as I was trying to get it as close to OEM as possible. It all started with a precise (as in to the millimeter) cutout of the rear area, which took forever. I then turned it over to my buddy Justin at Streamline audio, who specializes in doing killer custom stereo systems and cabinets for high-end vehicles.

My requirements:
  1. Had to be a perfect fit
  2. Use marine lumber
  3. Use marine carpet
  4. Integrate rails from FrontRunner with Frontrunner boxes
  5. Be upgradeable to a full sleeping platform in the back

Quick question .... does it bolt to the floor in some manner?

It sure does, it uses the existing rear bolt holes to keep down the back (near the gate) . We could have easily done two bolt holes for the front for a total of four, but opted for a different way to keep the front down.

You will notice that the front end of it wedges perfectly (as in a 1 millimeter gap) under the rears seats when they are slid the the furthest back position. This required notching the platform in two spaces (image 2 & 3 in the 2nd post). I guess we could have also included bolts holes for the front area also. Would take 5 minutes to do I suppose.

Sweet! May have to steal the idea.

That is awesome, dude.

Nice work!
