what are yall's thought's on driving an FJ 60 with a jimc tweaked carb on a desmogged rig as opposed to installing a weber 38/38?

Distributor is not re-curved

How so?

Anything could be better than my weber.

is it a 32/36 or 38/38?

What issues have you dealt with? (installation, performance, etc..)

I have an opportunity to purchase a jimc carb but was wondering if a new 38/38 would be better. I hear such great things about Jimc's work but i can't afford a turnover time of 6 weeks to send my carb in.

32/36. Need to buy the idle control solenoid to stop it from dieseling. Terrible economy, will never pass emissions again, hard to keep in adjustment. I can honestly say that I do like the power difference between the stock carb and the Weber but thats the only thing I like about it.

I have a Weber 38 and have been pretty pleased with it. The only "problems" I've had with it are climbing when I'm out wheeling. I've had it stall out on me before, but it always will start back up. Most carbs are going to stall/choke out on steep hills anyway I suppose

thanks for the input!

I appreciate the comments guys....i think I'm going to go with a TrollHole special and meet some of you guys at Edwin's on the 20th to do some wrenching. I don't need the lift but it would be good for me to get some more input from more experienced mechanics when installing the new carb.
