This may not come as a surprise to some on this forum, but I’ll make this post for the ones that haven’t dealt with Cruiser Parts yet…

I bought a “rebuilt” steering box from them not too long ago and paid a $350 core charge. I shipped my core back and they received it on 07/22/2024 and I have yet to be reimbursed. I have had communication with them and they stated I will be reimbursed whenever they rebuild the unit and can guarantee that the unit can be rebuilt. There is no time estimate on when they will ever get to this process.

You were informed before your purchase that the core return was dependent on the cores Condition, so is your gripe simply that it's taking to long?

I read it as a heads up to all of us to not expect core refunds quickly. Thanks for sharing this - it might help someone decide where to buy in the future.

I was looking at rebuilt steering boxes on the site as an example and it clearly says core refund based on reciept of REBUILDABLE core.

Its not advanced auto, its niche parts......ymmv

To the OP.....give it a couple weeks and follow up

The order was made via telephone not the website. I was not notified of that detail. Anyways, my point is not to expect any timely core refunds by them. It’s only been a month since they received it, but their customer service (which is almost nonexistent) and other dealings have been a huge let down which has contributed to frustration and doubts that I will ever see a refund.

Whats the let down?

Did you get the new part in a timely manner?

Was it in good condition and function when you installed it?

Vintage Land Cruisers are not for the impatient or the poors

Doubly so when dabbling in JDM/Non USA models

Did I receive it in a timely manner?

No. They shipped it about 2 months after order without any notification or conversation. I simply noticed the charge on my debit card and had a steering box a couple weeks later. I don’t have a large complaint on that. The communication was crap, but it is what it is.

No. I had a leak from the high pressure line which I made posts about, but that was my own fault and doing. No fault on theirs. I did have some other leaks on the unit though that I spent weeks chasing down. I initially sent them an email about it and they just simply stated that they are tested before shipping suggesting that it’s impossible to have an issue. After awhile I noticed that a couple of bolts on it (which they installed) weren’t tightened down all the way and that’s what caused the leak. Crisis averted.

This is not my first ROW or JDM vehicle.

Thanks for the indirect insults assuming that you are calling me both impatient and poor.

No insults were issued let alone intended.

The reality of dealing with antique vehicles/non usa vehicles is what it is

As are parts networks for the same especially when dealing with used/rebuilt parts

I was not informed of that at all before purchase. That’s a bold statement to make.
i read your following post about it being a telephone order,,, that should have been made clear, they should not have assumed you already knew that via the website, if thats what they assumed.

having read your sentiments i would like to add that i have had good experiences with the company, i did have a hiccup on one order but it was remedied to my satifaction and i will continue to use them when they have things i want.

i have no affiliation, but i hope you find a satifactory ending.

My personal experience with cruiserparts has always been positive too but I do see a lot of negative postings about them.

I don't get people on here defending cruiser parts, they are a $hit company.

I am not defending them. It doesn’t matter anyways though, isn’t the business up for sale now? Land and parts kind of deal?
