I was half asleep after the Rising Sun meeting last night so I had to edit that post a few times. I've never had the sausage from there because the bacon is so good. It's thick old school bacon....but I'm pretty sure they're not using Little Anitas!

This is one of those burrito places that you don't take your date to, but you get them to go for road trips or during a slight hangover. They're the size of your foot and won't be on the diet menu. But, if you're counting calories I always say they're about 100 calories.....maybe a little more;) You guys won't be disappointed.

We want to welcome those that have posted and hope a few more will join us online here. If anyone has any questions or comments fire away.

As Jonathan mentioned earlier Fruita is your best bet for liquor, but also is the nearest gas and it's best if you stop there and top off. There is a well stocked City Market too. If you want real beer, not the watered down stuff, buy in a liquor store (there's three). If your looking for maps of the area the Welcome Center has a good stock. It's also a good place to fill the water tanks.

I probably will drive out and camp near the trailhead (exit 2) Monday afternoon. Most likely my campsite will be a little ways past the parking lot up slope on the right. I will try to monitor CB 34 and HAM 146.460 (KJ4UML). We will be assigned other channels for the run.

Stan, thanks for offering to haul the burritos. Please remind us when we meet to get them out of your fridge so you have room for your own food, and of course to pay you.

Ace, I will probably join you for camping Monday night. Just too far from Ridgway to drive up Tuesday morning.

If anyone is planning on buying beer/liquor from Fruita, Tuesday morning might not work. They probably don't open until at least 10am. If anyone is unable to grab what they need before they go, post up. Someone will grab it for you.

Good point. I had not thought about opening time. I do know the state liquor store in Moab opens at 11:00. I expect many will camp near the trailhead Monday or motels in Fruita or Grand Junction to be there early Tuesday am. If anyone comes up short I can get stuff Monday afternoon. Got to use some discretion here as I've heard of folks being stopped by the law and having to dump most of their booze when trying to bring it into Utah. But I doubt we'll see many troopers on the trail. ;-)

I was informed this weekend that we have had one cancellation. As soon as I hear back from the committee I'll post up and send the lucky replacement a welcome email.......

That guy is gonna be so sorry.... this trip has *EPIC* written all over it.

EDIT: I hope this was just a scheduling conflict and nothing serious that caused this guy to cancel.... Otherwise I'll feel bad for my post.

The next guy in line will be jumping for joy! Remember the old Toyota leap? That would be him.
