I noticed a bunch of you went to Cruise Moab last year and drove and/or towed your trucks. I am also in NJ and would like to get my FJ40 towed to Cruise Moab 2013. Can any of you help with this? I am thinking along the lines of a trailer that can tow two or three cars.

I have already contacted your typical car transport companies and the prices are pretty high.

Several of us looked into this. If your objective is to save money this is not the correct way to go. We looked into multi vehicle transports and single transports and the costs were very high and you had to abide by their schedule. If you want to nail down exact dates for pick up and delivery, the cost triples. Then add airfare on top of that.

What we wound up doing is driving out and back. It's a very easy drive, with the exception of the Rocky Mountains. Other than that, you set your Cruise control to 70 and crank up the tunes. I did it 2 years in a row towing a trailer with my Swampers. Without pushing it too much, it's a 3 day drive each way.

Somewhere in the history of the GCLC mail list there is a complete documentation including costs of my first trip in 2011 and a bunch from others that went on the 2012 trip.
In any case, it's something that you really NEED to do. As much as I am a cynical and hardened New Yorker, it changed my life.

Almost all of us that have made the trip out west will be at the Winter Meeting on January 26th. It would be prudent for you to come and talk with us about it.

I know it won't be cheaper. I was thinking in terms of convenience. You can hop on a plane get off in Moab 5 hours later and have your truck waiting for you. That would be pretty impressive. I will try and find where you and the others posted about the costs of towing their rig. I am not sure yet which direction to go. Thanks for the response.

I bet Proffits would receive it and hang on to it until you got there so you didn't have to be so exact on the receiving end. At least the old crew would have, don't know the new guys that well, but they do seem like good guys. If not I have another idea, Pm if that's the way you want to go.

Profitts Cruisers is closing. There won't be a Proffitts by Cruise Moab. :frown::crybaby:

Thanks on the heads up on Profitts closing. I am checking out some options in Moab.
