Yeah, Swell 2nd choice. Im not too picky. I'd be plenty happy going on the swell tour if anyone really wants to go on koko. I travel so much solo that I'll enjoy whatever cruiser head company

The Swell trip has been my favorite part of CM for the past four years. I too spend a lot of time going solo so understand completely.

Once registered how does one go about changing the trails they requested. After seeing what some others have chosen I would like to tweak mine a little. Is that possible? Assuming spots are still available of course.

I signed up for:

Friday - 7 Mile Rim - Participant
Saturday - Hell's Revenge - Gunner

And of course the unofficial Midnight in Hell run!

Last year I found out almost the hard way that they overbook the Swell and Koko trips expecting there will be some dropouts. I thought I was secure to do the Swell but found out quite some time later that I was excess and would have been left hanging out to dry except for a dropout. So just because you got an email confirming some specific trip it ain't necessarily golden yet.

"They" being "us" We will do our best to make sure that results are aligned with expectations. I haven't seen the database yet and don't expect to for a couple days, but I promise all of us in the committee will do everything we can to make Cruise Moab 2013 the very best that we can.

Contact me direct. My PM box here at Mud is full (long story) but registration at cruisemoab.com is all good. I am here to make everyone as happy with their trails as possible.

Hey if you can great. If not I am sure I will have fun doing what ever trails I end up with. This will be my first CM so I am up for anyting and just happy to be going. :bounce:

Are we going to camp together as a club at CM? Need to know soon as reservations need to be made. I'm thinking good (not) old Slickrock because it's HQ and I can drink a few beers w/o having to drive anywhere.

X2 on not having to drive anywhere by staying at Slickrock. Last year we got them to clean the bathrooms/showers twice a day instead of once a day and it made a world of difference, much nicer.

It was explained to me that the reason it is such an issue with our event is that we have a large number of people tent camping and in pop-ups in RV spaces that would ordinarily have RVs with their own indoor plumbing.

Oh yeah, one more thing. On the subject of where everyone is camping, every year Daniel Markofsky does a map of the campground and shows where everyone who posts in the thread is staying.

Here is this year's link:

Any of you are more than welcome to register on the Rising Sun forum and post up in any of the public threads, such as that one.

I made my reservation at the Slick Rock today but do not know what site I will be assigned yet. I requested a tent site with electricity and water. Not sure why I need it but it was only $5 a day more. Having never been there so I did not request a specifc spot.

Hey guys, one of the people thy was going to stay with us at Moab Springs Ranch will not be able to come. Currently we have one Bedroom with Bathroom available. I can provide an exact cost later but IIRC it's about $120/ night for the room. A couple or a couple with a kid or two could probably use it. These are very nice and walking distance from Slickrock. We have the condo for Thursday-Sat night and alway do some great cooking. Let me know if anyone is interested. I'll cross post to RS if I don't see any bites in a day or so.

I got my email back saying I am in spot 173. In looking at the map, which I probably should have done before I booked, the space looks kind of long and skinny. Can any of you that have been there before tell me if I am in an appropriate spot for tent camping? I am wondering if I should call them and just switch to one of the tent spots which look more square. I assume water is available at the bathrooms if I need to refill my jug, wash dishes, etc. I have a 400 watt inverter if I need a little juice. I even have a 2000 watt Honda generator if I need a lot of juice but don't plan to bring it.

Also do they have a kitchen or are there places to eat near by? Not sure how much cooking and food I need to bring.

I stayed in site 171 last year. It is an RV site all the way in the back. Ok for a tent but your likely to be surrounded by smaller RVs. They do have water at most sights, several full bathrooms and most have a dish washing sink outside. No kitchen but a few restaurants close by and many in town about 1/2 mile south.

Guess I'll go ahead and reserve a tent site there too.

Got double tent site 136 way back in
the corner. Should be fairly quiet there and close to the vendors show and dinner. This site is big enough to share with one other tent camper. Site 135 next door was reserved for the same dates so would expect another cruiser buddy.

That's a good spot neighbor! When I first started going to Cruise Moab in 2000, one of the insiders mentioned that the row in the back is the place to be. 14 Cruise Moabs later and I couldn't agree more. I always camp in a tent, but what appears to be "long skinny" is perfect for a tent at the back and your rig parked in front.

Leave your generator at home, but do make sure you have an adapter for the RV plugs they use in the electrical hookups. The water is nice so you don't have to trudge all the way to the bathhouses to brush your teeth or fill your water bottles.

There is no kitchen, but there is a dinner restaurant in near the front entrance. Slickrock is a couple miles North of downtown Moab, so most places you have to drive to as far as shopping and eating out.
Happy cruisin'!
