shawn, what do you need to get done to take the rig? I have some free time I can help you out if needed. I don't know anything about v8's though.

100 series speak for Oh, sh*t! You know we always have to soften it for you 100 series drivers. :D Just means now I have to get that big old wale through that small tail

:D :D
That's pretty funny!

Made a HUGE mistake last night.

I showed Becky a boatload (no WHALEload) of pictures from Moab. While and afterwards she worked me pretty hard to reconsider on which Cruiser to take. She even went to the "What did we buy the 80 for in the first place? You never drive it. You always want to take the 100 everywhere. This should be an 80 trip because you'll have so much more fun and no worries" card. Of course everything she brought up she was absolutely correct on so I had little to come back with.
Then, while we're looking up these pictures, a good buddy emails me this and we read it:
"Your nuts if you take the 100 to Moab. Well, OK, your nuts anyway..."

So Christo........we'll see. I might have to be a "sit down" type a guy for this trip? :D She's right....we'll just have to see.

Oh, ok now be blame the wife part. I guess I will get the girlfriend to lead the trail then and spot you. BTW, she has never 4wheeled.

Words to describe Becky:

Glue
Stabilizer
Sponge
Microphone

Without her I'd be worse off. :D (I know you-all can't imagine that ;) )

I get emotional on this stuff. I'm passionate at everything I do. She calls me Mr. Gusto. Sometimes she needs to help me get my head out of my xxx. She was trying last night. Heck, everybody in this forum, all my friends, and you and I know that we'd have far more fun in the 80 on those trails. She's right. Trouble is I prefer and want to bring the 100 for the extra challenge.

More like 5 minutes Doug. :)

You forget though. I have an awesome "crutch" there at home to support me. An 80 with a 70+ degree approach and a 45 degree departure. Which would YOU bring to Moab? :D EXACTLY.......can't wait to take those lines!

This talk of bringing the 100 series was just talk to stir things up. And here I thought Shotts was serious.

Still-I can't wait for another shot at Golden Spike. It's a great trail in every respect. I guess Amando will remain as the only 100 series across the crack.

Ya, well if you had both my Cruisers which would you take? Nuf said! :D

Who cares who's first or who has what? It's about fun. Crud. I wish I had a wild 40!

Drew: My wife is right. I'll be salivating over taking lines like this. Down here they're few and far between. In Moab it looks like they're everywhere. She's right (God luv her!). These pics are from grades none of my 80 buddies can even do because of their size. I wanna do em. I'm coming to Moab!

Honestly, if I had talked all the crap about "my 100 this...and my 100 that...", I'd have no choice but to bring the 100 regardless of what the wife said.

I would be ashamed of myself if I brought my 80 after talking so much smack.

The last thing I would do is claim that I'm bringing the 80 because my wife told me to...

:flipoff2: EXACTLY.

:meow:

...and I don't to see any more of those weak pics of your 80 dry-humping that mound of dirt...geez...

:D :flipoff2: :D

Come on...you didn't really think he had the huevos to bring the 100 did you?

That is not a line, that is just a big old rock that I am pretty sure you can drive a 100 up a well :D All I can say is that if you bring the 80, you better not back out of any lines :D On the trails you got, there is nothing the 80 can do that the 100 can not do. There are quite a few options that I am pretty sure you wont take with either. You have a buddy that can paint for cheap, so the bumpers will scrape, but that is all.

OK, I am off to work to finally work on my own ch(*#@$&t before Moab. Swap crawler box, swap birfs and inner axles and do some touch up painting. Haven't wheeled that truck for a year.

Adimit it John, you really want to bring both. You're just working you way to that reality  :bounce2: :bounce:

That's the ideal answer, but the drive is too long and the gas prices are insane.

These guys are insane. I guess they think I need to prove something to them? Nope. And besides, it's already been done by Amando. Why they care about me bringing the 100 I can't figure? I've never went back on off-road statements however these Moab obstacles NOBODY will disagree are in the top 5% of difficulty. I've always said an 80 is better than a 100 in those most difficult situations though they're rare out there overall. We all know it. :)

Sure, we all know the 100 can take most all the lines an 80 can. We do it here 24/7. Looking at Moab pictures though I see endless opportunities for added challenge if you have a smaller rig. Those lines are lines my 100 just couldn't take. Just like those pictures above of mine, none of my 80 friends can do it. They have to move over to an easier line or their bumpers drag so much they can't climb. I'm going to Moab to climb and thank God my wife helped set me straight.

And Christo? You think I might pass on the tough lines in the 80? Are you wacko? What idiot bought one new and takes his $75K Cruiser where I have? Yer reading his writing. :) This idiot.

I do fear one thing though by bringing the 80. I said I was done outfitting it. I bet I come back wanting 6" and 37's. :D (Then I'll hate Moab. :D )

So in closing my friends (some of you :D ):

MEOW (whatever that means?)
HUEVOS (you mean stupid enough to bring the 100?)
ASHAMED (no, proud that I was smart enough to leave the 100 home so I can have even more fun)
80 WEAK PICS (I haven't seen another 80 make that climb at the steepest point. Maybe LandCruiserPhil's with 37's. You need extreme app and dep angles. Come out and give it a shotts Doug?)

Here's an example of why the 80's going (Pic's of Golden Spike).

Pic 1: The easy line, though in the 100 I'd move over to about the wet area then head up. Fun? Yep!

Pic 2: The tough line. That's where I'm heading in the 80. There's no way in hell my 100 (and I'll bet not even Amando's) can do that. The rear bumper will drag so severly you'll be stopped in your tracks.
