I've never went back on off-road statements however these Moab obstacles NOBODY will disagree are in the top 5% of difficulty.

I think herein lies the statement. None of the pictures you have posted is in the top 5% of the challenges in Moab (on trails offered at CM). If anything they are average, and barely worth spotting. On spike, the crack is probably one of the easiest obstacles. It is just famous, but not tough.

If you want tough in Moab here is one

Probably close to the top 5% .

and here is another one

and another angle

and then lastly, this one. Hell this was a stock Freelander!

so if you want to prove the 80, take it on Pritchett. Even on a outlaw run. You will have memories and photo's that will make your AZ pictures look like a walk in the park.

The pictures that you posted above is the first part of Poison Spider. The climb to the right is not difficult or that steep.

You are right, you don't have to prove anything. They are your trucks and you can do with them what you want, BUT you are the one that post pics of the 100 in "tough" situations (by your standards). It is not a competition, yet you always post 100 vs 80 posts, and this is the time to show what it is made of. Not prove anything, but really use the vehicle for what you build it. That is why everyone is getting on your case. :D

I never said "top 5% of trails at Moab". I said top 5% of trails period. Line up the thousands of 4WD runs throughout the US and a 100 will run with an 80 on 95% of them and just as easy while also benefiting from many improvements over the 80. Moab offes up MANY trails and obstacles up into that top 5% of the nation. For those it's clear that a 100 is less suited and we all know that. I luv seeing those pics you posted. I also know my 80 may not be able to do those same lines (lift vs flex etc). I know for sure the 100 can't take those lines. The bumpers stick out too far and you'd not have a chance to make the obstacle. If I buy a second 100, I'd cut my frames front and rear and shorten the thing as much a possible, much more than even Amando's. I'm not going to bring the 100 and watch the others having fun on those extreme lines. Not my first time there. I want to have fun!

Had I not of planned originally to bring the 100 I'd a signed up for Spike though I'd of opted for a Steel Bender or Behind the Rocks, or maybe Pritchett. Something like that. I think though being my first time there I'm running suitable trails. Dang, Hell's Gate looks over the top!

That freelandder was not on Hell's gate. Can't recall what the trail was. Believe that was not one featured at CM. Just busting your chops. Anyway, I would still try to get on Pritchett if you are bringing the 80.

Thanks on the Pritchett req. I think I'll sit tight though until I see just how bad these trails are. I hear Pritcett's a BEAST!

Ya, that looks sweet. That firsr pic looks scary! I think it's the one thing on Behind the Rocks that freaks me. The Well's book has a pic of it. High Dive? Is that the super steep ledgy drop?

hhhmmmmm....christo doesn't seem to mention short bus being on the trailer after doing his trails....

Oh, ok now be blame the wife part. I guess I will get the girlfriend to lead the trail then and spot you. BTW, she has never 4wheeled.
I just caught this, are you actually bringing a female to Moab this year? Never wheeled before? This will be fun. While you are resting up om Friday, maybe we should take a little short run over to Moab rim? How is she with heights?

That's the ideal answer, but the drive is too long and the gas prices are insane.

John I will be the first to donate $20 for the gas fund ($200 needed) to end the 80-100 debate. Otherwise this could go on forever. :flipoff2:

80 WEAK PICS (I haven't seen another 80 make that climb at the steepest point. Maybe LandCruiserPhil's with 37's. You need extreme app and dep angles. Come out and give it a shotts Doug?)

I dought my junk will make that climb without contact. With the front ARB and rear Kaymar my app and dep is not all that. 45* front and 35* rear - no bragging rights here just bling. :D

Well, if it makes ya happy I'd be glad to swap 80's with ya? I'll even wash my 80 before the swap. :D

Well seeing as you got fired recently and all - now you have the time and the $$ :flipoff2: Unless you plan on auctioning off the cabin rental...

This is a side note to this thread but I checked and didn't have mine in the truck.

Make sure you have your registration and proof of insurance in your Cruiser.
