Hi all,
First time poster from Aus, but long time ih8mud viewer.
I’ve had a petrol 100 series for 15 years which I still have but finally decided to purchase a diesel 2016 200 to tow my 22foot van after not being able to drive past a fuel depot without fueling up.
Picked up the 200 the other day and discovered cruise control engaged okay in both manual mode without radar and with radar.
But when both modes are engaged it hunts aggressively. When selected at road speed 100-110km and hour (sorry Aussie speed) it automatically try’s to gains 10 to 15km per hour and way overshoots, also picks up revs by 1000 to 2000 rpm depending on the terrain.
Ive tried it in set gears and drive, tried with the pwr mode on off. Turned off all bsm and rcta. Nothing seems to fix it, it’s like a bucking bull, when it’s engaged and finally settles to a speed it hunts so bad that it jerks your head back and forward in the seat. That’s in manual or radar mode.
I’ve checked with scan tool and when it’s hunting it’s not the torque diverter engaging and disengaging. Wheel sensors appear to be working okay with none erratic.
Here’s the catch, it’s got a Dpf delete with straight though 3inch exhausts and it’s been tuned, I’m suspecting they have stuffed something up with the tune.
I’ve searched high a low for an answer but can’t seem to find anyone with this sort of issue. I’m really remote so can’t just take it to the nearest shop to get checked hence the post. I’m a mechanic so do have bit of an idea what I’m doing but I don’t have experience in tunes. I’m not sure if they have done anything with the transmission but im taking a guess here but is it possible the engine and trans ecu are out of wack doing different things now engine ecu has been tuned?
Open to everyones advice with this strange issue.
Cheers
Ackerz
