Just posting because I'm so proud of my 85 cruiser, which made the drive all the way from northern California to Maryland in 5 days with absolutely zero problems. Odometer reads ~236000. Hopefully I won't have to do that drive again!

Congrats - that is quite a feat! I drove my 85 on a 1400 mile drive last August, and aside from no AC the Cruiser performed flawlessly

Good drive! Why you don't want to do it again? Too long, too boring?

Mud needs a "like" button for posts!

Good on ya!
You have the Rate Thread at the top of the first post.

Awesome! So what were the major things you looked at or fixed before your trip? I'd love to drive mine on long distance trips but I'm currently woking out some bugs.

Nice ! I have been traveling quite a bit in my 86 fj60. ABQ to Seattle and back logging over 4000 miles (side trips) with no problems except my fuel pump started leaking oil after my return. I would drive it any where without blinking an eye over reliability.

What kind of gas mileage did you get ?

What kind of interest rate did you get on the loan to buy all the gas?:D

Ill be traveling from NC to KS in about 2 weeks. Im starting the reassemble on the truck next Monday. Thanks especially to SpikeStrip and GeoFelix for all the help and patience with me. Looking forward to a week of wheeling and camping my way across the country.

I got anywhere from 12 mpg to 15.75 mpg when I had a pretty strong wing at my back in Wyoming. The reason I decided to drive it instead of ship it was because it was cheaper, but not by much!
