I'm looking for a storage system that I can mount to the bottom of my floor joists in my crawl space. I went looking for storage drawers used for the back of a 60 or an 80, thinking that if I could get one the right size, it would slide in the crawl space access in the floor. But that hasn't been so easy. I'm hoping someone can point me at a drawer system that can be shipped dissambled so I can slip it through the opening into the crawl space, assemble it and then mount it to the underside of the joists.

interesting, just as long as it's not food, moisture sensitive or good rodent bedding material.

is your plan to just install it at the access door so you can get at it from the house?

Drug stash.

Yes, my plan is to install the drawer to it will open right into the crawl space access. I want one of these storage drawers that is sealed on all sides so the rats can't get in. It's someplace to keep the firearms secure from the kids.

There's this new fangled thingy called a gun safe that would likely be better suited. Plus, you can put a dehumidifier in a safe and not have to worry about rust issues.

Ya, I don't want the world knowing there's a gun safe in the house, it's like an NRA sticker on your truck - it just tells everyone there's guns in the house. I'm looking for something that is completely out of sight, out of mind.

and virtually inaccessible......just saying.

No, I don't think you're getting the idea. I lift the access hatch in the floor of my mster bedroom closet, pull the drawer over and everything is right there.

I need something big enough to fit several rifles. Do they make a pelican case that long?

ahhhhhhhh! I see now. The only crawl space access I have ever seen was from the outside of the house. Thanks for clarifying!

Yes, they do, but I dont know how they will fit through the hatch/opening, and you would have to have enough clearance to open the top of the case.

I almost think a hidden compartment in the wall would be better suited to your needs.

your storing rifles? So I presume that you do not need them quickly, like for home defense, and just want them out of sight and out of mind of the public and your kids? With that why not just put them in a hardshell case with a lock (for the kids) and put them at the back of your master closet?
