anyone tried using chains in the rear with "crawl mode" for steep hills in the snow and ice? I tried crawl mode today without chains and it works really well, pretty much like a down hill assist!!! Just wondering if chains on just the rear would in anyway affect crawl mode:confused:

I don't think you will find anywhere in writing about using chains on the front tires; either the steering or the clearance issues. so the lawyers chime in probably. Lots of people use them on front and back in the real world. I have not seen any on the 200 series yet; mostly 100 series. Seem the clearance of the chains may be biggest hurdle for the front. maybe test first if you can find someone to loan you a pair that would fit your tire size. Some have even used chains to help with mud traction to some success (I was skeptical till seen vid). I think basically it comes down to "if your stuck and tow truck is a long way off or NOT in the equation anything can be used. Just be prepared for damage. but I have to say all the damage I have seen on 100 series have been from chains getting loose and whacking the body.
