Hey Guys,

In the middle of doing the timing belt, bought the crankshaft removal tool that was recommended in the OTRAMM videos but the bolts don't seem to
fit the pulley, they are too big. I have a '99 LC has anyone else had this problem? Is there a decent work around? Not too keen on using the "crank the engine
while having a breaker bar jammed in place" method.

You bought this exact tool or a different one? Sounds like you might not have metric bolts.
Amazon product ASIN B0051XDBBG
You can buy different sized bolts at pretty much any hardware store to replace the ones you have. Just make sure you get high grade ones. I don’t remember the metric size off the top of my head...

I think the pulley is the same across model years 98-07. Often times the threads are rusted or filled with crud. Tap those bolt holes with 8mmx 1.25 pitch and try again. If you have the Lisle pulley tool and its for toyota/lexus bolts should fit. Check that the bolts are 8 x1.25

Last go to Ace, HD, autoparts store and buy two 8mm x 1.25 x 70mm shouldered bolts.

I experienced the same thing when I did my timing belt a few months ago. Rust and crud in the holes. Tap / clean them and you have to put the bolt straight in. It took me a few times with each bolt and hole. I did buy a second set of bolts from Ace as the cleaner set and then used the real ones that came with the tool when I removed the harmonic balancer. Hope that helps!
