is the top something that could be easily replaced and attached of a doner. or is it something that is cut off and hard to put on?

nice candidate for a westfallia pop-top. If you weren't tying to make it look stock, it could be done fairly easily... some rectangular stock uprights at the C and D pillars, fab a lip to serve as a back upper door seal/jamb/stop, some sheet metal instead of cargo windows-maybe even hinged at the top and latched at the bottom if you wanted some side access, square stock top rail and an old volkswagon bus camper top. add a fridge and a stove and you'd have a pretty sweet 55
 
or weld the back doors shut and slap one of those JYnormous cab over campers back there:hhmm:

Why can't that be closer to Louisiana. I'd snap that up. Looks pretty cool with early 80 series wheels.
