Cracked frame... what to do...

Do not re-weld it. Bike tubing, especially 8 year old bike tubing, is not an aluminum boat or ATV tubing. It's stupid light and after 8 years has seen more than plenty of stress cycles. How much are you going to spend to have it bead blasted, janky re-welded, probably heat treated, and then re-painted or powder coated? Keep your eyes peeled for a good used frame on eBay, or check around for blowouts on a 1-2 year old model. FYI, the bike industry built way too many 2009 models bikes and there are lot sof still brand new ones to be had for a song. Also, it's often cheaper in the long run to buy a slightly less expensive complete bike and make a few component changes than it is to buy a new frame and shock. I always tell people while you can buy a whole car through NAPA,it's cheaper to buy a new one at the dealer and make some changes.
