From my 1975 LC I am selling (trying to) the 4 spd. tranny and t-case. Unfortunately after pressure washing it I found a crack in the case that goes around the front drive selector shaft. Is this a common problem? I know they can crack on top of the case but I haven't seen this before.

Photos?

I'll see if I can take some and post them.

Here are the pics. Is this a common problem? I'm going to sell it anyway but maybe some of you could give me a ballpark of it's value (both tranny and t-case) with the crack. Thanks.

Something hit the shift shaft....Those castings do not just fracture like that unless subjected to a substantial external force.

:meh:

Someone has dropped the assembly on the shift shaft, or hit it hard, only thing that could do that.
source another shifter and bolt it on there.
I seen these sell for as low as $100 and as high as $500

Poser beat me

I kind of figured that it may have been dropped. It was out when I bought the cruiser so who knows. Thanks for the comments, I appreciate it.
